You cannot hit the call button

May 7, 2014 at 7:21 PM (Uncategorized)

Between 7 a.m. And 8:30 a.m. Shift change, and the aides  are in the dining room helping people with breakfast. You cannot hit the call button between 12 o’clock and 1 o’clock same notation.

I in particular cannot hit the call button between two o’clock and 245. That happens to be my aide’s break time.

You cannot hit the call button between 5 o’clock and 6 o’clock. The aides are in the dining room helping with dinner. You cannot hit the call button between 630 and 730 because you know its almost shift change so nothing can be done and then it actually is shift change and they are busy doing report. Evidently there is no backup system where aides that are not in the dining room or not on break can assist people.

My body cannot be trained to  need assistance only during gaps in those hours. Skin breakdown is disastrous for a patient with lymphedema and I am sure as heck heading for it if this goes on.
