Health Care Reform w/Video “So, now a handicapped woman in a wheelchair has more rights than I do?”

September 3, 2009 at 6:37 PM (Uncategorized)

A homeowner with disabilities,[updated, to clarify, not me, but as another person with disabilities I was stunned by this] a woman in a wheelchair, fears she will be unable to pay her property taxes and will lose her home…her copay for the medicines she needs is more than $325 every two weeks.

She said, in support of the public option:

“Please hear this voice of the disabled: Don’t let the insurance lobby win this fight. “

Which prompted the anti reformer to say, and it bears repeating….

“So now a handicapped woman in a wheelchair has more rights than I do?”

Please sir.  Come and ask me that question.  To my face.  One on one. I beg you. Because I’ll happily sit here in my wheelchair and proceed to verbally whip your a$$.

I know you’re too much of a knuckledragger to get that we’re people.  We aren’t our impairments and we have neither more nor less rights than you do…in theory of course…

I’d   be more than pleased to educate any other Neanderthals that wander by….

Update: Here’s the Youtube (update to the update…No longer available}

h/t to KO and “Countdown.”
