Event Note: Democratic Presidential Candidate

October 20, 2007 at 10:02 AM (Uncategorized) (, , , )

Hilary Clinton will host an event Denver on the afternoon of Tuesday the 23rd of October

(as it happens I have the afternoon off work. I’m going to try to attend: I’ve got the paratransit coming and going set up already and I just found out about the event today.)

From an email alert relating to The Colorado Cross Disability Coalition

they want to reach out to
people with disabilities. She will be at the Auraria Campus from 4:30 -6:00
p.m. and the event will be wheelchair accessible and ASL interpreted. One
must have a ticket to get into the event and CCDC will have tickets for
distribution. Let me know if you want one. The band “Big Head Todd and the
Monsters” is opening for her.

The web site about this event is http://www.hillaryclinton.com/denver

CCDC does NOT endorse any candidates but we DO encourage people with
disabilities to be active in political campaigns and to learn as much as
possible about all candidates, to be visible in the political process and of
course, to ALWAYS VOTE.

Therefore we will publish information about such opportunities from any
candidate when asked and will distribute tickets to similar events for any
candidate from any party.

I like that position. Even though I’m committed to one side, I’d like to think if McCain, Guiliani, or Huckabee answered the AAPD questionnaire, and developed specific plans, revolving around Ticket to Work say, or Money Follows the Person (Why that doesn’t delight fiscal conservatives I’ll never know), and had targeted reach outs to PWDs, that CCDC would be just as quick to alert the commutity.
