Grocery Nirvana…

September 30, 2007 at 1:24 PM (Cooking, food)

Whole Foods on a splendid sunny day, just after payday and just after a decent haircut. (also am trying some conditioner so that my hair loses that lovely consistency of straw)

The list was:

Soy milk boxes (single servings for work)

Veggies to sautee or crock pot. (already diced, so I don’t need to…orange, yellow red and green bell pepper, onion, zucchni and teh yellow squash (which is evil tasting and will not be used)

fresh ground meat and some eggs (for roomate’s prefered take to work food, meatloaf.)

skinless boneless chicken breasts headed for the crock pot

low sodium broth

apples.

bananas

a knockout tarragon chicken salad (which I will eat for lunch in a few minutes)

tarragon, ginger, rosemary, oregano, cilantro (to help season the chicken without salt.)

One treat a pre-marinated teriyaki checken breast (with little measured out single servings of diced pinapple to put on top.)

The one sour note will be soy and fruit packaged like those little mini yogurts…I just want to try it it will probably be bleah.

Egg whites for me.

Lemon juice

Lime juice (again, with seasoning in mind…)

We already have the rice at home (I have to go non-whole grain)

Since the meat wasn’t packaged to freeze, we have to crock pot the whole amt of chicken right away and make a meatloaf so it’s off to the kitchen….

Teh yellow squash HAS a flavr?

Summer squashes are highly over-rated in my book, too.
